Cultural Impacts of Food District Park Food Park to the Local Tourism of Marilao, Bulacan

Abstract:

This study focused on the cultural impacts of Food District Food Park to the local tourism of Marilao and the perception of its local Tourism Offce and the local people towards its cultural influences. The researchers used a mixed method of descriptive research design involving quantitative and qualitative methods. Results revealed that 28% of the respondents visited Food District Food Park to eat Marilao delicacies and 37% believed that the food park contributed to the preservation and awareness of Marilao’s local food. Likewise, fndings showed that congestion because of the number of customers (46%) and not enough parking space (22%) served as the threats encountered by the respondents. Based on the fndings, the researchers concluded that Food District Food Park helps to promote and enhance the culture of Marilao and represent Marilao’s identity. Likewise, it brings people together regardless of age, gender and status.
