Evaluation of a Voice-Controlled Wheelchair for Patients with C4-Quadriplegia Paralysis

Abstract:

This research focuses on the evaluation of the voice-controlled wheelchair for patients with C4- Quadriplegia paralysis by different experts. The prototype received very satisfactory ratings. It received a very satisfactory (VS) of 3.6 from its user. The orthopedic doctors gave it a VS rating of 3.5 while the IT experts gave a 3.8 rating interpreted as VS. It was seen that the voicecontrolled wheelchair was able to do all the functions and operations expected from it. It could easily accept commands coming from the user and performs such accurately. It could move in different directions and could detect the presence of obstacle or stairs in front of it. At the end of the study, the prototype wheelchair proved to be ideal for patients with C4 Quadriplegia paralysis.
