This study is conducted to present the untold stories of the hablon weavers. Specifically, this study sought to determine the history, challenges encountered and the future of hablon weaving as described and recounted by the weavers. Descriptive phenomenological research as elaborated by Moustakas was employed in this study. Participants were chosen purposively. Face to face interview was employed for data gathering. Hablon weaving was pioneered from the family. Weavers conceptualize the design of hablon technically through the head of the Hablon centers. Hablon has been a part of the life of every weavers and it is their source of economic sustenance. Difficulties with patterns, color combination and operating the loom were the problems identified by the informants and so as the challenge of balancing work and family life. The future of the Hablon industry is promising as viewed by the weavers and through the support of both local and international bodies, this industry will continue to flourish. The same study could be replicated with other artisan communities of the country to have a better understanding and appreciation of one’s culture and heritage.
