Abstract:

The Indigenous Peoples (henceforth, IPs) in the Philippines have been facing their “battles” centuries past. They are still confronting these struggles until today. Their struggles take various forms, like asserting their rights to their ancestral domains, self-determination, economic, social, and cultural rights. Other than these, there is an outright denial of their value in nation-building. Many of them are voiceless and not well represented in the making of policies for the good of the whole nation. They continue to bear also the tyranny of misrepresentations from varied groups and individuals who are considered as outsiders by the IPs. The Mag- Indi Ayta in Floridablanca, Pampanga share the same burden and struggles as their fellow indigenous groups.
