Development of Performance Management Questionnaire for Travel Agencies

Abstract:

Performance Management System is an essential tool in managing people in the travel agency industry. This research is specifically focused on the following: developing performance expectation, monitoring performance progress, evaluating individual performance, providing feedback, diagnosing performance problems, training for improved performance, and developing performance improvement plan. The performance management questionnaire will be used to evaluate the performance management practices of travel agencies in the Philippines. The backbone of this study is the comprehensive review of related literatures. This new research output may be helpful for travel agencies in analyzing their performance management practices relative to their competitors in the industry, the best of which managers can strive to emulate to increase their own performance and in extending better services to their customers and in attaining an overall effective and successful organizational performance. Thus, this study is an added contribution to the literature on business performance management specifically intended for travel agencies.
