Elizabeth Ramos

Abstract:

The study determined the grades of the Computer Science (CS) and Information Technology (IT) students of St. Paul University Manila, Philippines in English 1, Mathematics 1, and Programming 1 for the following school years: 2013-2014, 2012-2013, 2011-2012, 2010-2011, and 2009-2010. Thereafter, the correlation between the grades of the students in English 1 and Mathematics 1, English 1 and Programming 1, and Mathematics 1 and Programming 1 were sought. Quantitative measures of analysis include descriptive statistics and linear correlation. The findings revealed that there is moderate positive correlation between the grades of the students in English 1 and Mathematics 1. Moreover, there is a strong positive correlation between the grades of the students in English 1 and Programming 1. There is a weak positive correlation between Mathematics 1 and Programming. Finally, the researcher cited implications of the findings to the teaching-learning dimension.
