Corporate social responsibility programs of the Philippines’ tourism industry: Input for SPU Manila’s curriculum development

Abstract:

The study intended to know the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programs of selected hotels, restaurants and travel agencies in the National Capital Region (NCR) and propose ways to integrate CSR in the curriculum of St. Paul University (SPU) Manila. This research can contribute to preparing the students in the promotion and practice of social and community development that the corporate world do on top of their regular business operations. This would also further strengthen and fulfill the university‘s community development program which is one of the pillars of a SPU Manila. A strong recommendation on the integration of CSR in the across programs in SPU Manila curriculum was given. To support the integration, the development of a CSR action plan is also recommended. Monitoring, control, and evaluation measures must also be instituted to ensure that objectives and targets are met.
