Maria Victoria Jubilee Dela Cruz | Klarie Joyce Gutierrez | Karen Camille Manzano

Abstract:

This study looked into the responses of disaster victims to and their attitudes on aid. Participants included adolescents, parents, and community officials. Interview was conducted in one of the evacuation sites in Botolan, Zambales. It was found that aid that disaster victims openly accept, due to their desperate situations, whatever aid comes from individuals and groups, government and non-government agencies, and also religious communities – tangible or intangible. But whatever the form they were gladly accepted by the evacuees. Despite the inadequacy of the aid given to them to satisfy their needs, disaster victims continue to be optimistic and try to stand on their own feet to find other resources.
