Sunshine in the Twilight Years: Development of a Communication, Expressive Arts, and Community Empowerment (CEACE) Framework

Abstract:

The study developed a communication-related framework that would involve senior citizens. It specifically explored relational communication characteristics displayed by senior citizens as a direct reflection of their interpersonal relationships; explored relational communication characteristics displayed by the participant observers in relation to their interaction with the senior citizens; and described the selected senior citizens‘ interpersonal communication, self expression, and community-empowerment. The study used a qualitative research design that utilized a triangulated data collection method which includes in-depth interviews, focus group discussion, and observation among senior citizens of the Timbulan community. The study proposes a Communication, Expressive Arts, and Community Empowerment (CEACE) Framework as an output.
