Research Preferences of Filipino Nurse Academicians in Oman: An Exploration in the Off-Shore Graduate Research Education in St. Paul University Manila

Brian Saludes Bantugan | Jennifer Olivar

Abstract:

The study looked into the research topic and method preferences of Filipino nurse academicians enrolled in the offshore PhD Nursing Education Program and Advanced Nursing Research course delivered in the summer of 2016 off-shore and online by St. Paul University College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences Graduate Program. The textual analysis of the participants‘ final integration papers revealed that their personal and professional experiences in Oman have relevant influence on their research preferences. This suggests that the delivery of research courses to off-shore students must consider the contexts in which the participants grow personally and professionally to better facilitate their academic growth, especially in the area of graduate students‘ research.
