Abstract:

Forensic facial sketch verification using image processing is a tool for criminal investigators to narrow down or pinpoint possible suspects. The purpose of this paper was to propose a new notification system using face recognition to notify the parents or guardians to keep them updated on their students by sending a message containing the name, date, and time. Face recognition is an accurate technology for managing the entrance and exit of the students. To avoid the prohibited activities of the student, such as cutting classes, being home late, etc. The researchers used the OpenCV library of programming functions, namely aimed at real-time computer vision. MySQL is database management to manage upcoming and outgoing data. Sublime Text is a shareware cross-platform source code editor with a Python application programming interface. Xampp is a special tool and provides to protect the most important parts of the package. Twilio allows software developers to make and receive text messages programmatically. Python is a powerful general-purpose programming language. This system is beneficial for the parents, students, and especially the school. This system enhances the technology gates for more benefits and security of the school. The researchers conclude that this system is an essential tool to criminal investigators, which aspires to cater to the criminal investigators’ notable benefit upon obtaining the suspect’s sketch from the artist and eyewitness. It was recommended to upgrade the necessary frameworks and append another image processing algorithm to increase the system’s accuracy.
