Coping Mechanisms among Fitness Gym-Goers in the Municipalities of Buenavista and Nasipit Agusan del Norte

Abstract:

The coping mechanism among Fitness gym-goers was based on descriptive data on resilience and coping with stressful life experiences. This study was conducted to determine the coping mechanisms among fitness gym-goers in Buenavista and Nasipit Agusan del Norte municipalities. Based on the result, most of the gym-goers aged sixteen to twenty-five years old. It was revealed in the study, and respondents implemented the nine coping mechanisms as to cognitive reappraisal, social support, problem-solving, Religiosity, tolerance, emotional release, Over activity, Relaxation, and substance used. Most fitness gym-goers used this coping mechanism as a stress reliever and increased overall health of sense of well-being. But all of these focuses on the emotional, physical, and mental aspects of the person affected by life stressors from the environment. This study aided scholars in finding out possible strengths and getting insights into the fitness gym-goers’ behavioral tendencies and coping behavior. It was recommended that the fitness gym-goers of Buenavista and Nasipit Agusan del Norte municipalities continue using the nine coping mechanisms to understand better the importance of coping with stress and improving the overall quality of life.
