Physical Fitness and Wellness among the Athletes of Saint Michael College of Caraga

Abstract:

An athlete is taken under consideration to be someone proficient with any workout or in sports. This study was conducted to determine the physical and wellness among student-athletes of Saint Michael College of Caraga. The researchers used descriptive correlational type of research in conducting the study. Based on the result, most of the student athletes’ age is 19 up to 21 years old. Also, it revealed in the study that the student-athletes are implementing the physical as to cardiovascular endurance activities, muscular strength activities, muscular endurance, flexibility activities, and body composition. While in wellness, the student-athletes are implementing physical health, social health, emotional health, spiritual health, and intellectual health. It was recommended that athletes should implement daily exercises. In addition, a development training plan will help students improve their competence and skills as they undergo various training or competition. Moreover, the researchers recommend that every field of sport must have facilities to have their training and practice before the competitions.
