Career Development Services and Job Placement of Isabela State University Graduates

Abstract:

Career development services in college provide students with extensive knowledge of their interests in various professions. This study explored the connection of how students perceive the effectiveness of career guidance program with the length of time of wait from graduation to first employment. Using stratified sampling technique, respondents were gathered from the three school campuses of Isabela State University (N=1,169). A career services questionnaire and the Commission on Higher Education graduate’s tracer instruments were used to gather data. Results affirms the view on career guidance as means of helping students prepare for the actual workplace and to fit into the industry expectations.
