Abstract:

The Study entitled “Healing Practices of Christian Zamboangueños Acquired from Their Subanon Ancestors” is qualitative research that utilized a structured interview in a local dialect. Study result revealed that the Christian Zamboanguenos acquired four traditional healing practices from their Subanon ancestors: Sahumada (pausok or patawas), Lana-Lana (Healing oil), Subada (hilot), and Herbal medicines given externally or internally to the patient to dure various ailments. Despite their Christian Faith, the Christian Zanboanguenos learn the healing techniques from their Subanon ancestors and continuously practice to preserve their traditional beliefs.
