Adjusting to the academic stressors in college can be problematic for many freshmen students. Experiencing these academic difficulties can affect a student’s success. This study aimed to identify the difficulties experienced by the freshmen students during their first semester of studies in the university. A total of 56 items were generated from open-ended interviews, reviewed by experts, and subjected to validation process. Using Exploratory Factor Analysis, four factors were extracted from the items, namely: difficulty in accessing school services, difficulty in meeting student life demands, difficulty in establishing personal-academic efficiency, and difficulty in integrating in school.
