The current study explored the relationship of interdependent happiness (IH; Hitikoto & Uchida, 2014) with subjective well-being (SWB) among middle-aged working female Filipinos through a sequential mixed methods research. Questionnaires were distributed to 205 participants, and the data were tested for the correlations of IH and SWB. Results showed a positive correlation between IH and positive affect (r=0.288, p<0.01), and with life satisfaction (r=0.406, p<0.01). IH was negatively correlated with negative affect (r=-0.164, p<0.05). The participants who scored high and low on the IH were then interviewed to explore their relevant experience. Results showed the presence of social support, social roles, and social adaptation in the experience of IH.
