This paper determines the role of women reservists in the overall peace development efforts of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in the National Capital Region (NCR) and was conceived as a result of observations on the following: (1) the changing nature of socio-political and military conflicts marked by decreasing inter-country socio-political and military conflicts and the rise of internal conflicts; 2) the changing perspectives on national defense and security from being state-centric to individual-centric; 3) the increasing participation of women in traditionally male-dominated fields with the growing acceptance of ideas on women empowerment, gender sensitivity and development.
