Abstract:

This study is an information display that makes use of 5 x 7 dot matrix display controlled by a programmable integrated circuit (PIC), which is a microcontroller (MCU) device used to display repetitive information. With the PIC16F877A MCU, the information is pre-program and is displayed in the matrix panel. It is advantageous over the electronic device since it is not as costly as liquid crystal display, and it dhas auto-power configuration. Compared to traditional sign boards, this electronic incorporates technology with displaying information that would catch the attention of the passer-by. The distinctiveness of this electronic information display could result to effectual information dissemination to the public.
