Abstract:

Education has undergone major changes over the course of history. Many years ago, only the scholars or government pensionados could go to other countries or come to the Philippines to study. In fact, the founder of Arellano University, Mr. Florentino Cayco Sr. was one of those pensionados sent by the Philippine Government to earn his Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University in 1921 and Master of Arts from the Columbia University in 1922.

 

Today, however, it has been observed that students from all over the world come to the Philippines to earn their degree (Padama et al, 2009) and students from the Philippines also go abroad for the same reason.
