Abstract:

Lianga Bay, Surigao del Sur, Philippines, is one of the coastal areas established with beach resorts regularly visited by the tourists. Located along the shorelines, it offers beautiful beaches and scenic tourist spots. However, as it faces the Pacific Ocean, it is highly prone to typhoons and other disasters. This study aims to identify the occurrence of disasters among beach resorts in Lianga Bay municipalities: Barobo, Lianga, San Agustin, and Marihatag, and assess the disaster preparedness activities undertaken by the personnel of each establishment.
