Carlos Jacobo Jr.

Abstract:

The study sought to create a framework for the 24 components of the student services program which has three categories: student welfare, student development and institutional support and program services. Specifically, it dwelt on the activities of the higher education institutions (HEIs) on student services, the challenges encountered by the HEIs and the framework to be developed as a strategy for the HEIs. The study used the descriptive-quantitative approach that determined the extent of implementation of the student services components. All the three HEIs implemented activities for some of the 24 components of student services and all of them experienced challenges on the implementation of those services. The HEIs addressed the challenges that were critical to the needs of the students along the four business areas of marketing, financial, human resource, and organization management. The findings of the study showed good status of the HEIs and that the provisions of student services among the selected HEIs were adequate and functioning. They implemented activities to meet the 24 components of student services. The researchers there is a need to propose an integrated program model to enhance student services.
