As the earth gets warmer and warmer it will settle to a new equilibrium – climate change. It has been predicted that climate change can cause detrimental impact on the environment before the end of the 21st century. And yet, a number of these extreme weather events are already happening hence there is an accelerating pace of climate change. Therefore, there is an urgent need to raise the level of awareness of the general population regarding global warming. However, the Philippines has been slow to action and way beyond its commitments to global initiatives on reducing gas emissions harmful to the environment despite existing many laws (Inquirer.net,2021). This survey therefore intends to assess students’ as well as teachers’ level of knowledge and awareness on the threats and challenges posed by climate change. Findings of the online survey show majority of the respondents are familiar with most of the basic terms used however, they are not aware of extreme weather events related to climate change and the local and international institutions advocating climate change and their programs and projects as well. Respondents commented that climate change is not given emphasis in school lessons and in seminars and conferences. Empowering agencies and institutions advocating Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Program is recommended.
