The research aimed to identify the perceived effects of the information dissemination strategies of war on drugs to the college students of Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba. A survey was conducted to determine the message, media, and approaches of the information and the perceived effects of the information on the respondents. A total of ninety-five (95) Letran Calamba college students from six (6) different schools were given a survey questionnaire. The study found that the information on “War on Drugs” in the Philippines was limited and moderately disseminated to Letran students. The communication channels were limited to print, broadcast, audiovisual, and interpersonal. When the student respondents receive the messages, they tend to become annoyed and/or anxious on the “War on Drugs” information. The researchers concluded that Letran students were aware of the information, convinced on the government’s effort based on the frequency of information, and critical on the type of information received. The results suggest that there is a need for further research to investigate other effective communication strategies for “War on Drugs” campaign.
