This study investigated the emergent modes of information dissemination in the Senior High School Department of the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba. Also, it determined the flow of information between OVPA and SHS Department and within the SHS Department as well as the perceived degree of importance of the modes of communication in information dissemination. By conducting this study, the SHS Department of the Colegio can improve their ways of disseminating information within their department. Key informant interview and survey questionnaires were used to gather all the information needed. The communication flow from the OVPA to the SHS Department and within SHS Department were identified as upward, downward, and horizontal. Upward flow of communication occurred when SHS Department send information such as feedback, proposals, and reports. Downward flow of communication happened when SHS Department received instruction, directions, and other work-related information from its top management. Communication flowed horizontally when SHS Department sent and received all types of information within its department. There were five (5) categories used to get the degree of importance of the emergent modes: urgency, validity, frequency, availability, and accessibility. The researchers identified the emergent modes of information dissemination in the SHS Department, namely: memorandum, letter, Discussion Action Form (DAF), bulletin board/white board, SMS, internal phone call, Facebook Messenger (Group chat), Outlook Messenger, e-mail, meeting, student assistant, and face-to-face conversation. In terms of urgency, it was revealed that SMS was important when sending and receiving announcements, sending and receiving reminders, receiving approval, and in sending and receiving reports while internal phone call was for seeking approval/permission. In terms of validity, the overall result revealed that letters were important in receiving announcements, sending and receiving reminders, seeking approval/permission and receiving approval, and sending and receiving reports while memorandum played a vital role in sending announcements. For frequency, memorandum and letters were the important modes. In terms of availability, memoranda, SMS, and face-to-face conversation were all important in receiving announcements while memorandum and face-to-face conversation were for seeking approval/permission, receiving approval, and sending reports. Lastly, in terms of accessibility, memoranda, SMS, and through student assistants were the highest rated modes. All functions except receiving announcements relied on student assistants; only sending and receiving announcements were for SMS; and receiving approval and receiving reports were for memoranda.
