The Internet has become part of humans' daily lives. Adults, teens, and even senior citizens and young children are very active in using different Internet sites as a source of information, communication, income, and even as a form of entertainment. At a very young age, children now are too much involved in using the Internet. Different sites and applications are being made in order for them to learn and have fun as well. In Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba, specifically in the Basic Education Department - Grade School, most enrollees came from a middle class family. Therefore, most children are engaged in different technologies, specifically with gadgets and the Internet. Even the Colegio itself is using Smart TVs which can connect to the Colegio's wifi. Due to the rapid technological advancement, children are encouraged to use the Internet at home to help them in their homework and projects. With this, the study aimed to determine if there is a significant relationship between the Internet usage and academic performance in Science of the selected Grade 5 pupils enrolled in the Colegio. Using the descriptive method of research, ten selected Grade 5 pupils from the Colegio were chosen to be the respondents of the study. A journal was given to them in order to identify what were their most visited Internet sites, as well as the amount of time they spent in using the Internet and its purposes. Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient was used to determine the relationship of the variables. Hence, the study revealed that there was a strong negative relationship between the Internet usage and the academic performance of the selected Grade 5 pupils in Science. As a recommendation, the Basic Education Department - Grade School should conduct seminars and trainings for teachers regarding the proper usage and integration of Internet in the Colegio. It is also recommended that the parents must supervise their child’s Internet usage at home.
