The study determined the relationship between moral driving I.Q. and cognitive driving proficiency. Through fishbowl method, 45 respondents were randomly selected. They were given moral driving I.Q. test and cognitive driving proficiency test, and the results were statistically analyzed. Most of the participants were young adults and were classified as experienced drivers for more than 11 years. The majority of the participants were under the post-conventional morality stage and most of them possessed a high level of cognitive driving proficiency. The older the participants and more experienced they are in driving, the more likely they possess a higher level of cognitive driving proficiency and act as morally matured drivers. Specifically, the relationship between the variables was stronger among middle/late adults than young adults and is strong and positive regardless of years of driving experience. The researchers recommended the application of two factors in implementing seminars, integrating lectures, making traffic laws and as a pioneering study of driving psychology in the Philippines.
