CRS – An Android Based College Degree Program Recommender System using C5.0 Algorithm

Abstract:

This study aimed to develop a supplementary recommender system that would help guidance counselors in different institutions to provide career counseling services to their students. Career counseling services guide students to be successful professionally. Apart from these services, students also participate in personal career counseling. The system was developed to have a client-server type of network architecture. The client is the Android application which allows students to take a personality test, view grades, and view recommended programs. The web-based server can manage the data of the student and can be used by an administrator and the guidance office of the different institutions.
