Due to the high number of theft issues and number of unrecovered personal items in the Philippines, this project was designed to mainly secure wallets from thievery and other forms and to track the location of lost and misplaced wallets via Global Positioning System (GPS) and Long Range Transceiver Module (LoRa). This project intended to track the location of either lost or stolen wallets and provide an alert notification whenever the Android phone loses its pairing connection to the smart wallet. With the help of the Android application, the coordinates learned by the GPS from the wallet are sent directly to the LoRa device. The Android application receives the coordinates from the LoRa device and plots it on a map to determine the traveled path and current location of the smart wallet. Aside from displaying location, the application has also the ability to control the buzzer from the wallet, connect to either wallet or LoRa device via Bluetooth, and provide a notification by means of internal device notification when loss of connection occurs. The researchers adopted the descriptive and experimental method of research to conceptualize and construct this design project. Initial data were gathered by means of an electronic survey to justify that there is a demand for the existence of smart wallet in order to minimize and prevent theft and misplacement. The proponents also performed experiments that measured the accuracy, speed, and reliability of the output. These were done to verify whether the desired outcomes were achieved. The researchers recommended the use of other devices that could further improve the system. The future proponents could use LoRaWAN as an alternative for LoRa technology to enhance the coverage of the project and lessen the limitation in terms of transmission. Enhancing the notification and security system of the application could also be done by providing push and voice-over notification. Finally, the proponents suggest building an application that can also be utilized by non-Android phone users so that other can also experience how to control, track, and be notified in case of wallet loss.
