Abstract:

This research analyzed the feasibility of converting the plastic waste found in Cronics Inc. into useful and profitable product. It specifically dealt with a combination of 70% Polyoxymethylene Plastic Materials (POM) and 30% virgin resins to produce a new and improved product called the ergonomically designed lumbar support using polyoxymethylene plastic. The product consists of pressure dots that serve as a lumbar support to give the user the comfort they need. Using the descriptive research design, the study recruited 389 respondents for the survey to determine the demand of the product. It was initially decided that the finished product will be marketed in the different areas of Laguna and Batangas, specifically in Calamba, Cabuyao, Sta. Rosa, Biñan, Los Baños, Sto. Tomas and Tanauan. POM Industry in Barangay Prinza, Calamba City, Laguna will be tapped for easy, hassle-free, and convenient distribution of raw materials and finished goods. The estimated capital requirement of the ergonomically designed lumbar support is Php 3,192,993.89.
