Design and Fabrication of Vending Machine with Shredding System

Abstract:

PET bottles are essential in the food and manufacturing industry. Millions of PET bottles are being produced each day to match its increasing demand. However, the use of PET bottles creates an environmental concern as PET bottles comprise a significant percentage of the total solid waste in most places. This study aimed to promote recycling of PET bottles through a vending machine. The project integrated the idea of a PET bottle shredder and a vending machine with beverages. Through this project, the problem on pet bottles as solid waste can be reduced if not totally eradicated; hence, it can help the ecosystem. Future researchers may improve the design and features of the PET bottle recycling machine to lessen the waste in the environment.
