Design and Fabrication of Mechanical Corn Kernel Separator

Karl Issah M. Lobusta | Mark Paul C. Visda | John Edward V. Abendaño

Abstract:

The focus of the study was to lessen the time and manpower in removing the corn kernels in the corn cobs. This research aimed to design a machine that can remove the corn kernels and separate whole kernel from grind kernel. Specifically, the study identified the technical requirements needed in fabricating the machine, the unique features of the machine, the possible benefits to the farmers, the contribution of the project on agricultural development, and the estimated cost of the project. To create the best design project for the mechanical corn kernel separator, the proponents applied different types of research methods. Adopting a descriptive research design, the researchers conducted tests to identify the problems that may occur in the prototype.
