Abstract:

Rice production demands a great deal of work, time, and money from farmers. In transplanting rice seedlings, farmers manually put the seedlings into the paddy; they bend their body to reach the paddy field. Although there are available mechanized transplanters, small-scale farmers do not have the capability to own and use such specialized equipment. Hence, this study focused on the design and development of rice transplanter that is easy to transport, occupies less space, and guarantees high performance. The researchers were able to identify the mechanism essential for the rice transplanter and the best possible materials to be used along with economic considerations. The researchers tested the machine and proved that it would be beneficial to the farmers.
