RECKONING MENTAL HEALTH STATUS OF RNDs IN WITHSTANDING THE PANDEMIC

Mydee O. Gervacio

Abstract:

The study's main objective was to assess the mental health of registered nutritionists and dietitians in the province of Quirino while they dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. The participants were profiled in terms of their sex, civil status, educational background, and line of employment, as well as their general health, medical issues, and level of worry. Additionally, the association between general well-being, the severity of health issues, and general anxiety was evaluated. The participants demonstrated a high level of assessment on their general health both during and before the pandemic and a very high level of assessment of the condition of their health issues with regard to physical and emotional health and discomfort, according to the data. On the other hand, the energy and emotion state were assessed as being at a high level; the activities' restrictions were appraised as being somewhat limited, and the regular social activities were somewhat impeded by their emotional issues. The participants' general and physical and emotional health problems, however, are adversely associated, suggesting that as these issues occur, the participants' general health is damaged. Moreover, the results revealed that the participants have a low degree of worry. On the other hand, there is a positive correlation between the participants' physical health issues, energy level, and emotional status, indicating that these issues have an impact on their level of overall anxiety. Similar to the participants' overall anxiety condition, the participants' energy and emotional status are positively connected with any physical health issues.
