Preaching with the Sciences

Abstract:

The sciences are seldom employed by Roman Catholic preachers in the homiletic event. This article demonstrates how various contributions from the sciences can stimulate fresh metaphors and imaginative analogies for preaching. Besides considering how the sciences can be employed “in” the preaching event, the paper further demonstrates how understanding the neuroscience “behind” preaching can also enable more effective preaching.
