Christian Coson | Chryssler Oruga

Abstract:

This study described the leadership styles among student organization leaders and their demographic profile in terms of age and sex. It also tested the significance difference between styles when grouped according to age, and developed a capacity building group dynamics activity. The Researchers used a Path-Goal theory which indicates that there are different kinds of leadership styles. Using descriptive research design, the researchers employed Likert scale questionnaire to measure the difference in leadership styles according to demographic profile of age and sex, and to identify the factors that contribute to their effective leadership. The researchers found that there was no difference in leadership styles based on the demographic profile of age and sex; half of the respondents had an overall high level of leadership despite their current situation. They were still able to function daily in the institution. It showed that the results of the test did not contribute as factors to leadership styles. The researchers recommended to future researchers to look deeper into the topic of leadership and its domain. They also suggested that future researchers conduct another study on the same subject, considering the difficulties encountered by the student leaders before, during and after the research requirement.
