Abstract:

The current process of reporting crime incidents is using a manual process of getting the crime incident report. Delay in responding to a crime incident report occurs because a civilian takes time to report it to the police station. Reporting a crime in the police station takes a long procedure, specifically, in validating and assessing the incident. The deployment of the police officers to respond to the disturbances is slower than needed. This study proposed a crime incident reporting system which could notify the police officer in charge and respond to the said report. It can also show the route where the crime incident happened. The system can monitor in the map what type of crime incident happened in that specific place and it can generate the summary of crime reports per Barangay or per month. The intent of the proposed system is to help the civilians and the police officer to report a crime incident sufficiently and easily. Initially, a pre-assessment survey was conducted to identify the current process of reporting a crime incident in PNP Calamba. On the other hand, a post assessment survey was also conducted to know the feedback of the client on the developed system. The researchers found that the system could make it easier for the civilian to report a crime incident and for the police officer to easily get the report information and to know the route where the crime incident happened. The police administrator can now monitor and generate the summary crime reports without doing it manually.
