Abstract:

Training evaluation is a systematic process of analyzing the effectiveness of a training program, its alignment with the company’s goals and objectives, and the intended improvement of the skills and knowledge of the employees. This research determined if the on-boarding training program for 2018 provided by the Sterix Incorporated was effective in terms of achieving the training objectives in every training/seminar, in acquiring knowledge and skills, in the application of learnings in their job, and in the assessment of the pest control technicians’ learnings. The researchers gathered data from all the 50 pest control technicians eligible for regularization. The data gathering tool used consisted of four parts: the list of trainings from the On-boarding Training Program, training objectives, acquired additional skills and knowledge, and the application of the acquired skill and knowledge in the job. Based on the result of the study, the highest percentage of attendees in the basic training was in Integrated Pest Management while the lowest percentage was in PPE, equipment care, and maintenance. In advanced training, the highest percentage of attendees was in IPM Documentation and Forms while the lowest was in Basic Supply Chain System Management. Most of the respondents agreed that they achieved the objectives of the training, acquired additional knowledge and skills useful to their work, and always manifested effectiveness based on the stated job description. Information from interviews conducted with the randomly selected participants substantiated the gathered data from the survey. Results of this study will be useful in evaluating and enhancing the On-boarding Training Program for 2019.
