Yves Ryan Dacillo

Abstract:

This research determined the feasibility of establishing a kakigori food kiosk in Ayala Malls Solenad, Nuvali. The proposed venture was a mall kiosk that sells Japanese shaved ice dessert or kakigori and aimed to be the first to offer such a variant of shaved ice dessert in the proposed location. Survey questionnaires were used to gather data to determine the market situation and demand for kakigori. The proponents also interviewed the personnel of different establishments in the area for other pertinent information. Results showed that 85.2% of the total target population were willing to buy kakigori. The high percentage suggested that there was possible demand for the product. Using different techniques to evaluate the initial investment of P691,664.74 needed to start the business, the researchers found that the business would yield positive return on the investment. Thus, the business is financially feasible of running for at least five (5) years. The researcher strongly encouraged future researchers to consider expanding the business to take advantage of the unsaturated market for kakigori.
