This study aimed to design an economical and efficient system that can hasten the cooling down process of the cement powder inside the silo used for concrete production. Through ocular visits, interviews, consultations, net surfing, and conducting library research, the proponents were able to gather enough data and information that supported the proposed design of cement cooling system. The proponents, with the help of the company, devised three alternative solutions to provide sufficient cooling for the cement silo. The first alternative was to design and install a cooling system for cement silo using chilled water as the medium. The second alternative solution was to design and install a cooling system for cement silo using raw water as the medium. Finally, the third alternative solution was to design and install a cooling system for cement silo using coolant as the medium. Design calculations, schematic diagrams, and economic study for each alternative were discussed and presented. Among these alternative solutions, the proponents recommended the design of a cooling system of cement silo using coolant as the medium.
