Maria Cecilia B. Bustarga | Joshua A. Delos Santos

Abstract:

This study evaluated the selected organic restaurants in Laguna, namely, Herb Republic, Sierreza and The Farm Organics to determine the critical success factors of their food service. Specifically, the study answered the following research questions: 1. what is the profile of the selected organic restaurants in Laguna in terms of history and menu offered; 2. what are the critical success factors of selected organic restaurants in Laguna in terms of competition, management practices, product development, profitability, promotion, and customer satisfaction; and 3. how do the critical success factors aid the survivability of the organic restaurants? The researchers used the descriptive research design, took both quantitative and qualitative methods and applied a thematic analysis. The problem statement focused on making guidelines to achieve the critical success factors of an organic restaurant. All the listed factors (competition, management practices, product development, profitability, promotion and customer satisfaction) should be well maintained for an organic restaurant’s success, according to the managers and customers. The survey revealed that lack of smoking areas as well as parking areas affected the satisfaction level of the customers on the facilities provided. The totality of the customers’ needs should be considered to reach a higher level of satisfaction. Survey with customers revealed that they were strongly satisfied (M=3.55) with the selected organic restaurants in terms of food quality, atmosphere, service offered, convenience, menu offered and facility provided.
