The study focused on the level of compliance of Dalitiwan Resort in Majayjay, Laguna with the Department of Tourism (DOT) standards for resorts in terms of location and environment, parking, room accommodation, public washrooms, and sports and recreational facilities. The study utilized mixed methods research design, particularly, the sequential explanatory design. In gathering the necessary data, survey and personal interviews were conducted; observations were also made using observation protocol. A tourism officer from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Majayjay also observed the resort to validate the observation. The findings of the study showed that in terms of location and environment and parking, Dalitiwan Resort “fully complied” with the DOT standards. In terms of room accommodation, public washrooms, and sports and recreational facilities, the survey results showed that it only “complied”. However, the interview and observation did not support the quantitative data as the key informants revealed that the resort did not follow some requirements to obtain accreditation from the DOT and it did not even reach the category of the lowest class for a resort. The study recommended to the Management of the resort to improve the quality of its service to meet the DOT standards; sustain and further improve the location, environment and parking; add amenities, furniture and fixtures to the rooms for the guests; renovate both the male and female washrooms, add curtains and heaters on showers; and provide two sports facilities.
