Michelle Anne Caniza | Richelle Trishia Victorio

Abstract:

This study identified the core values of La Vista Pansol, the work values of the employees in terms of the core values of LVPRC, the problems encountered by the management and costumers regarding the work values of the employees; and, proposed an employee development program based on the findings of the study. Using descriptive research design, the researchers conducted a survey with 15 employees, 15 guests and 3 managers of the resort. They also conducted a written interview with one of the owners and general managers of the resort and an exclusive interview with the operation manager and employees of LVPRC. The findings showed that La Vista Pansol Resort Complex was guided by its core values in developing the work values of the employees to help the company in its operation. These core values included strong work ethics, dependability, responsibility, positive attitudes, honesty, loyalty and integrity, strong self-confidence and professionalism. The evaluation result showed that the work values of the employees were rationally and highly identical to the core values of LVPRC. It also showed that when the company encountered problems with their employees, they resolved them before the day ended. Their manager would not tolerate the employees’ bad work behavior by right away correcting them. The researchers proposed a three-phase development program which included soft skills training, onboarding training and product and services training that will help the company to develop in their employees work values conforming with the company’s core values.
