TEACHING SATISFACTION AS DETERMINANTS OF 21STCENTURY TEACHING COMPETENCE OF TEACHERS IN KAPALONG EAST DISTRICT DIVISION OF DAVAO DEL NORTE
Jeanefer A Domat-ol | Pablo F. Busquit
Abstract:
This study aimed to determine the relationship between teaching
satisfaction and 21st-century teaching competence. This study
employed a non-experimental quantitative research method, and
the respondent of this study were the 110 public elementary
school teachers of Kapalong East District, Division of Davao del
Norte, for the school year 2020-2021. The findings revealed that
extent of the job satisfaction in terms of Job security, work
environment, job responsibility and community attachment was
extensive. The teachers, as part of the institution, have a greater
responsibility to provide learners with quality teaching. While
21st-century teaching competence in terms of critical thinking,
collaboration, communication, creativity and innovation,
technological skills were extensive. The teachers should be fully
equipped to embrace 21st-century teaching competence full
strength and integrate teaching pedagogy to the updated ways
of learning as students centred, but this doesn’t mean teachers
must rely on the student's outcomes; nevertheless, the teacher
always prepared for any instances and apply collaboration
learning from their students. Significant relationships exist
between job satisfaction and 21st-century teaching competence.
All domains in job satisfaction significantly influenced the
teaching proficiency of teachers.
