Abstract:

The purpose of this research was to map out the poverty level of selected Barangays in Davao City in terms of food and clothing adequacy, materials used in the construction of the respondents’ houses, house ownership, and their vulnerability to disaster, their participation as citizens, annual family income, and income for food, clothing and repair of dwelling. Using descriptive survey, with percentage and rank as statistical tools, results showed that respondents experienced missing meals in a day. Their food was fairly adequate although their annual income was very low. Their income for food, clothing and repair of dwelling was sufficient. It is recommended that local government should strengthen its implementation of Barangay projects to augment the income of residents.
