Abstract:

Homosexuality is defined as a sexual orientation in which a person becomes attracted to individuals of the same sex which considers normal and a natural disparity of the sexuality spectrum of humans, hence not a mental disorder according to the American Psychological Association (APA). This study aims to analyze the biographical accounts of the coming-out process of Filipino adolescents identified as homosexuals from the perspective of the class model. The study utilized a case study design to account for the coming-out process of the four (4) participants aged 18- 24 comprising two (2) identified as homosexual males and two (2) identified as homosexual females. Validated researcher-made interview-guide questions were used and conducted with the participants. The results showed, using the said model, from the first stage experienced no confusion about their identity to the sixth stage of being fully aware and accepting of identity along with acceptance of individual differences to sexual orientation counterparts. The results were accounted with the life experiences and the coming- out process based on the biographical accounts of Filipino adolescents identified as homosexuals.
