Acceptability and Marketability Of OTAGI Immune-Boosting Tea

Abstract:

By giving our immune systems a natural boost with the help of various natural ingredients like leaves that are abundantly growing in our surroundings and fruit peels that occasionally end up down the garbage disposal, we can find a hand reached way to protect ourselves from bacterial infections, health disorders, and even prepare immune system to counter the outgrowth of viruses these days and forward. The researcher thought of making an innovation of a product into a more likeable, ready to drink, palatable and nutritious immune-boosting tea by using Oregano, Tamarind leaves, Ginger and lemon peel that could be considered as a potential immune-boosting ingredient for tea due to its various health benefits and named after as OTAGI Immune-Boosting Tea. This research was performed to determine the acceptability and marketability of the OTAGI Immune-Boosting Tea in 4 grams, 6 grams and 8 grams proportions. Ingredients were equally distributed 4 grams contain 1 gram of each ingredient, 6 grams contain 1.5 of each ingredient, 8 grams contain 2 grams of each ingredient. Respondents were determined by quota sampling. Parameters were evaluated such as ascorbic acid, calcium zinc, moisture, and pH using official methods. The result revealed the presence of cited parameters are contributory to the boosting functions of the product as per FNRI, Philippine Dietary Intake, 2015. The most acceptable proportions gained by the 8 grams. This concludes that all the proportions are acceptable and potential to the market but the 8 grams gained the most preferred. This study recommends to promote herbal teas consumption as well as to complete the packaging and find the possible partnership for market readiness.
