Abstract:

This is an ethnographic study on different ethnic rides in the Philippines which are patronized by tourists. Different ethnic rides such as the calesa, boats and rafts attract tourists primarily to experience riding on a novel mode of transportation. Aside from the novelty, the rides showcase the culture of the Filipinos as well as the beauty of the environment. The study revealed that the success of these rides lies on the hands of the rig drivers, boaters and rafters.Â
