Abstract:
Parents’ engagement played an important role in parent-teacher partnership in educating the children
to have a harmonious collaboration in motivating the children's learning. Due to this pandemic,
parents were appreciated as facilitators in the learning process of the learners since children were not
allowed to go to school for face-to-face interaction with the teacher. Modular Distance learning
modalities were implemented most of the schools especially Dalamas Integrated School wherein
internet connection was not available in the said area. This study aimed to assess the parents’
engagement in modular distance learning and the learners’ academic performance in the school year
2021-2022. The study utilized the descriptive-correlational research design. Findings revealed that
the respondents’ engagement in modular distance learning helped them realize that education was
very important to their children and that they encouraged their children to do their homework.
However, the data revealed that engagement of parents in modular distance learning did not
necessarily affect the academic performance of the learners and that their engagement was not
differentiated based on their socio-demographic profile.
