AWARENESS, BENEFITS AND ACCEPTABILITY OF THE STAKEHOLDERS ON THE JEEPNEY MODERNIZATION PROGRAM

Abstract:

Taking Lucena Grand Central Terminal Inc. in Lucena City as the research object, had 268 stakeholders from the jeepney drivers, operators and commuters and presented its profile including the demographic profile as to age, sex, civil status, educational attainment, category of respondents, income per month and years of being a jeepney driver and/or operator. The study aimed to determine the level of awareness of the respondents on jeepney modernization program guidelines, know the perceptions of the respondents on the benefits of the jeepney modernization program, determine the acceptability of the respondents on the jeepney modernization program and to find the significant difference on the awareness of the respondent when grouped according to category of respondents. Through purposive sampling technique, ANOVA analysis and literature gathering, findings reveal that Jeepney Drivers, Operators and Commuters are aware on the Jeepney Modernization Guidelines; they know the benefits of the program and is acceptable to them; there is a significant difference in the awareness of the respondents on the Guidelines of Jeepney Modernization Program in terms of Franchise Issuance, Provisions on Operators/Drivers, Cost of Modernized Jeepney, and on the Benefits of JMP. Furthermore, there is no significant difference in the awareness of the respondents on the Guidelines of Jeepney Modernization Program in terms of Vehicle, and on the Acceptability of the respondents on the Jeepney Modernization Program.
